Full-Time Training - Testimonies

Loving the Lord, Ruwanthi Pilapitiya

Being a fourth term trainee of the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA), I feel like the best two years of my life were spent in a most blessed place. To me the Training is a marvelous place to be trained to be useful to the Lord.

While working in Houston I had a specific leading from the Lord to serve Him. I felt that to give oneself to the Lord to serve Him and to cast all other things aside is a privilege. In June of 2000 I decided to attend the Full-Time Training in Anaheim, mostly desiring to know my God in a deeper way to be useful to Him. I came to know God's heart's desire and His purpose for man largely due to the ministry of Witness Lee and Watchman Nee. The more I read their ministry the more I was convinced that these two brothers were unique gifts from the Lord to His Body.

Being at the Training for two years I had time to ponder on many things. One of the most important ones was what the Lord wants. What would the Lord come back to? Would He come back to a group of Sunday-only believers, or to a group of believers who graduated from seminary or missionary school who have a lot of Bible knowledge but no reality within their being? The ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee has encouraged me in many ways to give the Lord the first place in my being, and to love Him, and most importantly, to pay attention to the divine life (Philippians 3:8-9). In the training we get into the Word of God in a very thorough way and we have opportunities to preach the gospel and pray and fellowship with the Lord intimately. Experience of God's life is stressed in every class very much. We are encouraged to spend time alone with the Lord daily to desperately seek Him. I feel that this ministry turns me to God and brings me back to Christ as my first love.

Witness Lee set up the Full-Time Training to help believers live as normal, functioning members of the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12-13, 16). Being here I have never received any pressure to conform to anything against my will. I have been helped to grow in life, to enjoy Christ daily, and to love the Bible. I love the Lord so much more now and I want to serve Him and be one who would bring Him back to end this age.
